The PC version of Street Fighter IV has officially been released today. You can find it at major retail outlets as well as digital distribution sites like Steam and Impulse Driven.
The game is currently
sold out on Wal-Mart.com. While this shouldn't be an issue for people looking to get their hands on the title, because it's available as a digital download, this is potentially really good news for PC fighting game fans.
Most computer gamers can probably count on one hand the number of quality fighting games that have been released on the PC in the last 5 years, or even longer. The market for fighting games has been something that a lot of console game makers have completely ignored — for a long time.
But if this early sell out at a major retail outlet is any indication, it's a very strong showing for the potential consumers that are out there, and hopefully this will get Capcom, and other companies, thinking about releasing their titles on the PC in the future.
Kudos to Tom for the heads up on this.
