Sven on controllers, retail prices and other PC SF4 stuff
Capcom V.P. Christian Svensson visited the Capcom Forums to offer up a bit more information on Street Fighter IV on the PC, including support for 2 players on one keyboard and multiple monitors.
Here are his comments.
I was curious if the PC port of Street Fighter 4 would have support for multiple monitors, using a TripleHead2Go or similar, or if I would have to play it on a single screen only? — Vince
Sven: I don't think it's something we've actively supported so unless the triplehead can just "Work with all Games out of the box", probably no-go.
Is the price for the European PC SF4 going to be the same as every where else?
Sven: SRP for Europe is 39.99 Euro both retail and digital. What individual brick & mortar retailers and etailers do beyond that, is out of our control (no price fixing).
So to answer your question, we've got them priced the exact same to the extent that it's within our control, regardless of distribution mechanism. The free market at retail may cause some variation. As the consumer, you decide how you would like to purchase.
Is it possible to play with two people on one keyboard?
Sven: [...] It's not possible to configure a 2nd player on the keyboard unfortunately. :(
Editor's note: Those of you looking to do this still can try using PPJoy as suggested by Bill.
This program also has functions to make older controllers work with newer games.

@ olabamba
Well that's what you get for pirating the game.

it's true that some Ultras are easier to perform on Keyboard, because the inputs are very precise especially (<- -> + <- -> + PPP/KKK), but forget about quick variation combos and and stuff like 720° moves :P

so my question is... can the pc version play 2 player vs mode on the same pc? if yes, how? what kinds of controller?
Posted by Darkhadou on July 2, 2009 at 5:54 p.m. #15
Any 360 controller will be fine including the TE stick. I'v etested the TE, EX2 and normal 360 gamepad and they all work on the game as well as Keyboard and Mouse. PS3 TE is said to work too though conflicts with some chipsets. But for the most part- any controller will work. Yes you can have offline 2 player.

@olabamba
As if it matters. Online SF-play is full of lag, lots of pussies use lag switches and practically everyone online plays like a complete coward, sitting and waiting for you to attack them, even if they use an over-powered cheat character like Sagat or Ken.

Most cowards online choose Akuma, Sagat, Ken or Abel to get free hits. If you hit them, your move will go right through them as if they're a ghost. But if they do a move from the other side of the screen, it will still hit you.

I notice mostly kens and ryus who use lag tactics to stuff anti-airs if they have abit of a startup. Now i just execute them early.
When does PC sf4 officially come out?

@shaggy:
waaah, nobody gets in my face on knockdown so I can kaiote uppercut them on wakeup. Waaaah everybody online just sits there and I can do anything about it, waaah bunch of pussies online use "over-powered" characters to beat my over-powered character. waaah f&@k online play
