Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX confirmed for PSN
Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX is coming to the PlayStation Network. SFA3 MAX is much like the home ports of Alpha 3, but it adds 4 new characters: Yun, Maki, Eagle and Ingrid.
To refresh your memory a bit, Alpha 3 had several gameplay modes, like dramatic battle, which allows three fighters to duke it out at the same time. You and the computer can beat up on a single opponent, or you can take on two CPU controlled fighters.
MAX will still only be playable on the PlayStation Portable because it's a UMD Legacy release. The original release generally received very good reviews though, except for the somewhat awkward controls because of it being played on a portable device.
Anyway, if this release follows suit with the rest of the Capcom titles on the PSN, you should see it out sometime this summer for about $10.
Also, Capcom Classics Collection Remixed which was previously announced comes out this Thursday, and it contains the original Street Fighter game.

I own this on the PSP and absolutely love it. I recomend it to anyone who is a fan of the alpha series or even if you are new to Alpha in general. The game speed feels faster but that might just be because its a portable game.

But to compensate for bad controls, they threw in a permanent D-Pad add on for the PSP with the game at release, I didn't get one and inquired to Capcom support for it later but they were long gone.
Also there was rapid fire in the options under control button assign. Super cheat.
Helps you learn Gen/Guy's links easier though.
Would look great on a full TV with a better pad right away or stick support if they have that too.

This will not be online because it is a part of the UMD Legacy line up, which means it could only be downloaded onto and played on the PSP.
It's just the same PSP game we got in '06.

Hey, At least we get good online play.

IMO this game isn't worth it without one of those unnoficial D-pad addons, as well as any other fighting game, the controls just feel too awkward. It isn't the game's fault though, it's basically the same as the PSX version with more characters.

I'm not getting why T4L is starting console war or saying something about online play. They're making sound as though this is a digital port of the SFA3 PSP game, which did NOT have online play. Great game, but I won't be buying, already have it on UMD.

What a waste...
They should have released a version that can be played on PS3 too...with online play!
I guess Capcom doesn't like to do the "extra" work to make all of that possible.

Hope they put this Title up on Xbox live,it would only be sensible to a lot of us who dont have Ps3's.

Finally the MAX version in a console were you can easily fight a friend. That's great new for me.
Too bad it isn't a PS2 version. Beeing for PS3, it makes it hard to have a chance to play.
But at least now there's a chance.

Glad to be able to finally play this version on the PS3.
It's great on PSP, but to be able to utilize a TE stick for this is gonna be awesome.

There's never been a PSP to Xbox 360/Arcade game... ever?
Stop the whine.
Dot, PS1 version was no good. Saturn/Dreamcast vers. were more Arcade perfect. Alpha Collection PS2 one also good? Don't know on that. Wikis say it doesn't have more characters or even World Tour mode, whoops.
Dreamcast vers. in Japan eventually got online play.
HD REMIX that Capcom. That's how SF2HD came about. A Dreamcast online play vers source code.
But really use real GGPO this time. Not half-assed late into development almost GGPO matchmaking service.
