Does SG rank even exist? Has any1 ever reach that rank?

Why does ryu need matchup info? He has brain dead setups that work on everyone, there is no guess work. Turtle and mash dp nets ryu alot of points lol. ANd tech option select is golden since his low short is so good. THe only thing u need to know is when not to throw a fireball, which doesnt take much. Why dont they give some matchup tips for characters that actually require thinking. Maybe some abel, some honda or sakura. Maybe if there was some more help for the lesser used characters u might actually see people playing them.

Unless you're a paying customer, STFU. People work hard on this and the info is free. You want other characters? Do them your Effing self!!!

@#3 Street Fighter is a matchup based game. At higher levels of the game this knowlege is needed as it can greatly affect the outcome of a match. If you want matchup knowlege for other characters visit neoempire, or shoryuken.

Over 111 people are on SG at this moment, im one of them, but it extremely hard to find matches, most people on SG play Ranked or Player matches.

@chickenwings:
Ryu has a lot of guess work involved. If you just mash dragon punch, expect to take a lot of damage. No two of Ryu's fights are the same. He is a very balanced characters, but you need to use different tools for different situations.

@4
dude stfu. Ryus matchups cant be any easier to understand. Like i said before, all u need to know is when not to throw fireballs and how has moves that go through/aborbs them. Other then that theres nothing to worry about. THe only matchs u might need to actually work is versus balrog and sagat. And those fights arent much different, dont throw stupid fireballs and dont throw random sweeps/low fierces(his only no safe normals) and dont over use srk. So seriously, nobody worked hard on match up info for him.

@ chickenwings
I agree 100% with you sir. Ryu doesn't need matchup info, he is a common sense character. If you have a working brain and you use him, you'll do just fine. So this matchup info for him is nothing special. All the good players here know this stuff from common sense.

Thats funny, the ryus i fight are either text book or there just horrible. The problem with text book bs is that its so easy and effective, There is no guess work for ryu. AS long as u dont do something retarded ur fine. I hate to say it but sagat actually has to work harder then ryu.

Ryu really isn't so easy to use. A lot of the time you guys are getting beat, you may just not understand what advanced techniques the Ryu players are using, because you shouldn't be losing to "turtles that mash dp". Matchup data is necessary for him as it is for all characters, because you need to know what you can throw fireballs at, what you can punish, what puts you at the right range for which follow up, as well as the properties of yours and your opponents' moves.

"Ryu really isn't so easy to use". I stoped reading right there because i couldnt stop laughing. I just said in a previous post that all u need to know is when not to throw a fireball, and u turn around and repeat it back to me LOL. Theres no bad matchups that u need to learn and ur basic strats dont change much matchup to matchup, again the biggest thing u need to learn is when and where to throw fireballs which really doesnt take more much.
ANd u want to talk about move properties? LOL for christs sake. His normals all range from above average to best in the game(messing with him yesterday i comboed low jab,low strong, sweep LOL give me a break), his fire ball is second to whos? Sagat? and his dp is the BEST in the game. Add to that the ability to combo ultra off of a fart(only rufus is worst in this respect) and the fact that he takes FULL advantage of the fadc system and the short cuts(im still waiting for reasons to fadc bison,honda,guile, or blanka) and like i siad before, there are no counter picks to him, the worst thing u might fight is balrog and all u need to know for that is when not to throw fireballs and that low short,forward eat up most of his wakeup options. Hes a brain dead character with absolutely no weakness(even sagat has weaknesses), all of u ryu fanboys need to step back and play someone else for a week or 2 and see what its like to not have capcom design the game around u.
And please, stop with the "hes the most balanced character" bs. Hes not. Hes supposed to be a jack of all trades all around character. Which should mean that he does everything fairly average, but no. He has almost the best of everything in the game. All ryu should have been was the fireball version of ken, but they went ahead and made him a super shoto.

@chickenwings:
Knowing when and when not to throw a fireball is a part of Ryu's game, sure, but it's not the entirety of it, and it's definitely not as easy as you're trying to make it sound. A lot of guess work is involved most of the time, and there's no way you could make a clear cut statement like, "I should throw a fireball at this time and not this time."
I do agree that Ryu has better moves than a lot of characters, but a lot of characters got shafted in this game. That doesn't mean that Ryu is too good, it just means that a couple of the other characters could use a couple of things. Don't think Ryu is the only character I've ever played as in this game, I have "stepped back and played someone else for a week or two." I agree with most people in saying that a lot of things suck for other characters. It sucks that Guile's only three-frame normals are standing light kick and standing jab. It sucks that his flash kick gets beat out so much. It sucks that so many people have such a hard time landing their ultras. It sucks that Rose's soul throw is guaranteed to get beat out unless you're psychic. It sucks that her fireball is so damn slow. It sucks that Fuerte has nothing going for him except his mixup. It sucks that he can barely combo anything into anything. It sucks that so many characters have such a hard time landing their ultras. These are shortcomings for other characters, I agree, but your answer to that is that Ryu is too good? Why not that the other characters need to be better?
If Ryu was as unbalanced as you say, why are so many of his matchups 5/5? Why are none of his matchups 7/3 except the one against the character that was made as a joke? If you're using him, you're asking for bad matchups.
5/5 means that you have an equal amount of chance of beating him as he does of beating you. 6/4 only means that you may have to work slightly harder, and you still have a good chance of winning if you spent time and work on your character.

@yflow
Atleast u admit that other characters suck. But consider this. How much would it take to step everyone up to ryus status? And in the process how many more problems would u create? In essence the cast should have been balanced around ryu with him being the perfect middle ground, if u could rebalance the game around him im all for it. Do i see it happening? not a chance in hell.
ANd as for the tier list. Blankas placement should tell u that list is garbage. And look at ryus matchups. Honda 5/5? thats a joke. GUile v honda is listed a 6/4 guile because of his zoneing game, and ur telling me ryu cant zone honda with a non charge fireball and the best aa in the game? I mean seriously. I would go inot specifics with this match but im falling asleep. BUt u wrote the guides, u know whats up. U know that ryu can cause major problems for other characters with alittle effort.
