Here's a list of events taking place this weekend in the fighting game community. A lot happening if you're looking for some tournament action.
• Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Northeast Championship (NECX), Dec. 5 & 6. The biggest tournament this weekend is attracting competitors like Justin Wong, Marn and L.I. Joe. This event will have a TON of games players can sign up for and a live stream will be available here. Frame-Advantage.com — who's been doing an outstanding job providing live coverage of community events — will be handling the video you see. • Los Angeles, California: LA Riots, Dec. 5. This event is ran by Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez, and will start at 2 p.m. PST with a live stream of the festivities. This is a Street Fighter 4 invite only competition featuring the top Southern California players like Alex Valle, Mike Ross, Peter "Combofiend" Rosas and others. Live results and coverage will be available here on the front page as well.
• Southern California: Specialists II -- House of Cicada, Dec. 4. An invite only Street Fighter 4 six team 5 vs 5 Round Robin competition, featuring top players from the area. Event starts at 9 p.m. PST with a live stream available here.
• Rowland Heights, California: Arcade Infinity Ranbat 3.1, Dec. 6. Live stream here.
• Dallas, Texas: Absolute Battle 2009, Dec. 5 & 6. Lots of games being played at the various tournament here and some good prizes too.
• Upland, California: James Games Arcade Street Fighter 4 tournament, Dec. 4. 7 p.m. PST start time.
• Chinatown, New York: Calm Before the Storm, Dec. 4. SF4 and SF3 3s tournaments.
• Granada Hills, California: FFA Street Fighter 4 Team Tournament, Dec. 5.
• Overland Park, Kansas: Max Out tournament, Dec. 5.
• Greenville, South Carolina: Street Fighter 4 Tournament, Dec. 6.
• Granada Hills, California: SoCal Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Dec. 5.
• Tucson, Arizona: Street Fighter 4 & Tekken 6, Dec. 5.
• New Brunswick, New Jersey: Underground Gaming Society, Dec. 5.
• Charleston, South Carolina: Battle of the Sexes, Dec. 5.
