GameSpot found out from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's producer, Ryota Niitsuma, that the game will have four new characters added to the roster, two each for the Capcom and Tatsunoko sides.

The new characters will be revealed at this year's Tokyo Game Show (TGS) which runs through September 24-27.

Niitsuma-san later went on to add that online matchmaking will be improved, with better filtering according to skill levels, and US/European players will be able to play against all other territories around the world.

What's interesting is that since Hakushon Daimao won't be in the game, the Tatsunoko side is one character short.

While earlier comments by Capcom's Christian Svensson, seemed to indicate that the rosters could be unbalanced, it's fairly surprising to actually see that that might be the case.
