Ever wonder how the final results for the "Which character would you most like to see in Street Fighter 4" ended up? We all know that Cammy won, but Seth Killian filled us in on the rest.Here are the full results, however basing any expectations about more SFIV characters on the placing of the finishers would be... unwise. As I think I said someplace (maybe it was at the Comic-Con panel?), Cammy crushed the competition:
1. Cammy - 43%
2. Sakura - 15%
3. Dan - 12%
4. Fei Long - 8%
5. Ibuki - 7%
5. Hugo - 7%
6. Dee Jay - 4%
T. Hawk - 1%
It's interesting to note that the 1st, 3rd and 4th place finishers are all confirmed for the console release of the game — which seriously makes you wonder if Sakura will be in it — despite Seth's disclaimer.

Lame. Sakura brings absolutely nothing new to the table when it comes to move sets and play styles. We have ryu, ken, akuma, dan for sure. And with the rumors of gouken and sakura surfacing, that makes 6 shoto characters.
What ever happened to the first poll where dudley won?
There are plenty of great characters in the street fighter series with interesting and unique move sets and play styles. Capcom just wants to blame the fact that street fighter 3 was a market failure on the characters, when the truth is it was marketing and the first 2 half-assed versions that caused it to fail.

I think SF3 failed because of what Ono was talking about. The game was too advanced for low level players. You gotta have a starting point so lesser players can join in, but still appeal to high level players.
How many low level players tried playing SF3 much? You hardly saw any compared to the other SF games.
Easy to learn, impossible to master. That's how games should be made.

I was expecting Fei Long to have a higher percentage, but hey, atleast he made it in regardless.(It still baffles me that Dan got more votes... I guess I'm not the only one that likes Joke characters)

The learning curve is irrelevent. Otherwise, games like Virtua Fighter series or other games that are just as complex or more complex than SF3 would never hit the popularity.
Low level players should always play to improve. Otherwise, what's the point into entering when there's no incentive to win?
At the time that SF3 was released, people only shunned it not only because it went a different direction from Alpha but because of other fighting games that Capcom released simultaneously, especially the Vs. series. Third Strike was a major improvement from 2nd Impact or New Gen, but only shown average sales. As time passed by, the Alpha series was dead and the only Vs. game that were played were MvC2 and CvS2. Third Strike caught up eventually, especially the PS2 Anniversary release.

Wow Ibuki missed by 1% that's crap we should have got her
definetly she has a very different fighting style and would have been welcomed. wonder what would ahve happened if she tied with Fei Long. Anyway Capcom S-Kills Plz give us Ibuki

I think I actually agree with Balrog,
SF should be Easy to learn, but impossible to master.
Im really into SF since i was a kid, but when sf3 n all came out, I lost interest. Its was too complicated with all those silly combos n sh*t, Not that I cudnt of played and goten better, but it just didnt appeal to casual players nymore.
I still played SF2 Until SF4 came out.
SF4 is just too good, very easy 4 ny1 too play, but takes time to be good..
That just my opinion...

Cammy should have ALREADY been planned to be in the game anyway. That shouldn't even have mattered. You just eliminated a country off the SF roster by removing DeeJay. Seth is a complete moron.

Dan didn't win man... it was FIXED by Capcom... the original Poll had Dudley win... And it was obvious this poll was fake because the day polls closed..there was like anime intro for Cammy few weeks later....that's pretty quick eh????

that entire poll is complete BS. the only chars on it i would've liked to see are T Hawk and ibuki. There's no need at all for Fei Long, since EVERY fighting game has a bruce lee character. Dan is a waste of space, since no one actually plays him for real, the new aspect sakura could've brought is, as pointed out earlier, already filled by the zillion other shotos. and anyway, a couple more new chars with new, inventive fightingstyles would have been very welcome.
