After getting some hands-on playtime with this game, I have to say that I cannot help but feel disappointed with the overall product. One of my personal grievances with this game concern Namco's asinine age limitation on their characters. Sure, the male characters can progress upward to over a centennial range (Wang Jinrei of Tekken fame, anyone?), but it is obviously taboo for female characters to be even 35. Because of this anomaly, SC veterans such as Taki, Xianghua, and Setsuka have gotten the proverbial axe, only to be replaced by teeny-boppers Natsu and Leixia who have adopted their predecessor's fighting styles. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions and whatnot, but it makes me think sometimes that Namco harbors pedophilic sentiments by adorning their jailbait designs with skimpy outfits, yet a 30-40 year old woman would somehow be unappealing to them. I guess the cougar craze doesn't resonate with the Japanese culture, eh?

#17: it all comes down to what they think will sell. I don't agree with it, but it's not like you can just ask them to stop because it's gross. It was an entirely conscious decision on their part.

Ivy's getting up there, or should be, but to combat that problem they have her physical age "fixed" due to the sword's influence or something.

@17 Whether you like the looks of the characters or not, Namco has this great mode called Create a Soul. In this mode you can take, say... Ivy and make her a man with that fighting style.

You don't like Natsu? You can make Taki just by creating a character with Natsu's style.

You want to play as an old woman? Hey, you can! Just pick any fighting style and create an old lady.

Isn't Namco great? Now hopefully they eventually add a ton of unique fighting styles like they had in Soul Calibur 3. Specifically Talim's or the Grieve Edge.
