Tiers for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 by the EventHubs community

Overview

Back in January of 2012, we asked the EventHubs community to assign a letter grade to each of the fighters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Hundreds of votes were factored in to the rankings below, but some of the end tallies for letter grades people thought a character should be assigned were very close.

Tiers have been and will likely always be a hotly debated topic. Just because a character is a higher tier does not mean you should play them. You're best off picking characters you like because of how they play.

Also, new technology and team setups for characters are discovered all of the time, as such a character's letter grade could very well change in the future as more people learn the additional things they're capable of.

I go to check the stamina rating and see you guys added this already. Pretty cool. Obviously my opinion differs from the result of this public vote (though it would be rather self indulgent to run down the differences character by character), but it seems fairly accurate to the way I see it.

I do wonder if another poll will be help in the future; 6-8 months down the road or so.

Morrigan is A tier easily. Her keepaway game with the fly/unfly fireballs plus the ability that she can gain meter during the shadow super make her A tier. Otherwise I really like the fact that we actually have a somewhat accurate tier list now!

Morrigan is B+ to me. Her keepaway game is only good with the right assists. Herself as a character isnt A tier.

"Only good with the right assists" is irrelevant. The only assist she really needs is Doom's Hidden Missiles, which just puts another A+ character on your team. She's A+ because she's a bad matchup for basically everyone.

Viper's A+ too.
