Yoshinori Ono did pronounce her name as "Giuly" or "July". In Japan, they pronounce the R as an L and the L as an R.

Giuly and Juri don't sound the same. Juri and Juli do, I'm aware that the L and R sound is mixed, I'm sure you've seen her name written as Juri on in-game footage though.

I'm just saying, it doesn't say Giuly, Giuly would be ギウリ.

I can understand why they wrote it as "Giuly" above, because the only way you could write "ju" in Japanese is "ジュ" Which is pronounced as "jyu".

Giuly is pretty much pronounced the same as Julie anyways, since in Italian, Gi = J. They don't really use the letter J.

And depending on which part of Japan they're from, they would either only use R's or L's, but not both.

I don't think each character are cheap I think that since the characters have their own abilities and people who take advantage of their moves/strategies we should just find ways to beat them and learn from a win or lose

I hope she is not a charge character.i cant charge super cancel for my life. motion characters are a different story. how sweet it will look if she juggles as easy as ryu. I cant wait too play her and im excited for the new and returning characters as well. oh and if we cant air parry can we at least get an air focus attack type move.

I doubt she's a charge character. A lot of her moves from the T.Hawk vs Juri video look like quarter circler moves.

I can't wait to try her out. She seems like a good rush-down character like Cammy, which is a playstyle I love. Hopefully my guesses are right. If she's charge, I'll probably smash my fight-stick out of nerd rage. :|

Sly, I don't think she'll be a charger. You can see gameplay of her in the IGN interview and a lot of combos look to hard for a charge character, least that's what I think. Also, I like to point out something in the IGN interview and if you pay attion, Juri can juggle into her Ulrta, so for those who are worried that her ultras going to suck, no need.

isnt there two characters in alpha 3 called juni and juli... so she must be a be like what seth is to urien and that alpha boss (dont recall his name), so she cant be called juli as there already is one, i think juli is a native american who t.hawk has some relation i could be wrong :S

Why does the Japanese translation matter? It's a Korean name any ways. Don't worry about how the Japanese pronounce a Korean name, she's from KOREA (DUH?). In KOREAN the R's and L's are used according to where they are placed in the word. It's not just mixed. Usually if the "ㄹ" is on top, Left, or Top left as the beginning consonant, it is usually pronounced as an "R". So since her name is "Juri" or Joo-Ri (or in Korean 주리). It is an "R". If the "ㄹ" is on the bottom or Bottom right then it is usually pronounced as an "L" since it is the bottom ending consonant. Similar to English when we pronounce the letter "R" whether it's the beginning letter or the last, we make different mouth movements to pronounce it. Try saying "Race" then say "Car" The first word gives off the "Ruh" form of the "R" since it is the beginning consonant and the second word gives the "arr" since it is at the end of the word. Imagine the Japanese trying to understand our "R"s when they were learning English. Is it "Car-uh"? Lol.

Dear god I hope they make her a charge character. Since she's obviously going to be so OU by the majority of scrubs that play. atleast make them work for it instead of just getting to spam the shoryuken motion to get rid of all thier problems like they used to do with ken and ryu in sf4. I don't mind if she's good as long as theres some degree of skill required.

You haven't run into one because they aren't real. They are an archetype not a stereotype, so they exist in fiction. Negima, Asu No Yoichi, and other manga have the archetype represented. Also Morrigan was a succubus, she had sex in order to live and wasn't too picky, and Eagle was Freddy Mercury, so he was as gay as Mercury was on stage. Lastly Poison is bi, so we do have one of them.

I just figured she was "freaky". Seeing her design, actions, & lastly her Ultra brought me to that conclusion. I was, & still am quite happy w/ her type of characteristics. No I'm not suggesting that Mercury was only gay on stage, just that Eagle is based more on Mercury on stage than off. Yeah Poisons never been playable, but no great loss. I just despise her. Also when Morrigan gropes Lilith or does any sexual act with anyone, a fluid is made inside her that acts as nourishment. So yeah, as a succubus she needs sex, or at least stimuli, in order to live.
