Why do I get the feeling that Guy is openly homophobic?

Ever since SF4 came out i have been telling people , if there is one character i would like to see come back... its Guy. He was my main on Alpha back in the days...He had one move that was similar to Akuma's raging Demon and i hope they bring it back. To see what im talkin about ... at around 5:31 into this video clip he pulls it off. Check the URL below.

I don't get it, he speaks in Japanese, yet he's American?

Look at it this way. There are any number of foreigners living in the USA who speak English but not their native language. Does that help?

Actually in the original Final Fight Guy was Japanese. In Alpha 3, Capacom changed his nationality to American (don't know why). SSFIV Guy is based on Alpha 3 Guy so they kept his nationality American.

since when is 179cm 5'11 and who did the translation for this it looks like they mixed up some of deejays data with it

So why does he hate European writing?

@#3

Why do I get the feeling you never played FF2 where you find out Guy has a fiancée.

Posted by shadow050 on June 25, 2010 at 7:32 a.m. #16

@ 9

he's clearly a Japanese dude... but he lives in the USA. he's a Japanese-American. that simple.

like, if they had a race or ethnicity category, it would say "Japanese"... despite his "country" being U.S.A.

Posted by jme on July 17, 2010 at 8:26 p.m. #17

No he's american he just likes ninjas lol

Posted by Shadowzz on July 27, 2010 at 9:15 p.m. #18

He's actually Japanese, however when FF and SFA came about to USA they merged him into a Japanese American. He traveled to USA to test out his Bushin-ryu in real combat. So originally he indeed was Japanese, Capcom then made him Jap-American.

His dislikes were Horizontal writing not language specific though.

I think he was pretty much an American from the first Final Fight game. The only time he left was to continue his training in Japan (the reason he didn't show in the sequel)

His official height is 5'11" and he's light which is the reason he's so swift.

With all the verifiable info online and official Capcom books there should be no incorrect info.
