Interesting Find
"Bored with his peaceful life, he wandered the streets looking for any riffraff he could find, and subsequently beat them into submission until he was finally caught and jailed. Instead of his jeans and white t-shirt from Final Fight, Cody's wardrobe now consist of a striped prison uniform with handcuffs on his wrists (which he is actually able to remove when he taunts his opponent, but fights wearing them anyway) and stubble on his face."
The interesting part is

That proably explains why in the world the cuffs are to big for his body, also, it would be freaking awsome if they brought back his old taunt where he takes the cuffs off.

I believe in most of the bios and background story on Cody, they say that he is a practitioner of karate since the age of 8. Which most would agree if you look at his fighting style and combos in FF.

Lawl. They always seem to forget to mention that he was framed and jailed because of that. When Cody kicks someone's ass, they usually deserve it and the police turn a blind eye.

He went to prison becuase he decided to willingly took the blame for something that Guy did so Guy wouldnt have to go to Jail. This put a strain on there friendship & they havent been on good terms ever since

Poison is a girl, is just that America is stupid and wanted Poison to be a guy, and now there is an urban legend that says that Poison is a guy.
There is also a story in Final Fight Revenge a game for the Sega Saturn that explains how Mad Gear framed Cody and how Poison felt sad about it and visits Cody at prison with flowers.

Actually Poison is in fact a guy. but in america poison is considered a post op tranny because capcom didnt feel that america would accept the whole shemale thing. But in Japan she just tucks it away! if you need proof just google it

That story bit is actually non-canon before any confusion starts. It is from Final Fight: Streetwise which is a pretty mediocre PS2 game made by a separate American developer. The game also had Guy as a Yakuza leader and has Cody's little brother "Kyle" as a starring role.
Also Poison is recognized officially as a transvestite. Poison was originally a woman but American divisions felt beating up women would be controversial so Capcom of Japan decided to turn her into a transvestite.
