Gen vs. Character Strategies: Street Fighter 4

Blanka Match Up Information

Vs. Blanka

Gen can punish Blanka's Beast Roll on block with his Mantis stance Ultra or Super. He can also dash forward into Standing Medium Kick and Cancel into his Rapid Slap to counter, but the timing is strict.

Also your Mantis Standing Hard Kick and Crouching Hard Punch can be used to stuff Beast Rolls that you predict.

Use your EX-Wall Jump, then Ceiling Drop to escape Blanka's Ultra.

You don't want to jump a lot in this match because Blanka has good anti air tools to deal with Gen, but you can punish almost all of his special moves on block, if you have good timing.

Only do deep cross up attacks because Blanka can knock you out of everything else.

What's the one thing Blanka and Gen have in common?

Both of their dicks are green.

Yes, i've got a solution. You'll have a good counter until Blanka has 1 bar because of Gekiro and c.lp/fp. When Blanka has the option of EX rolls and EX electricity, back off and play a waiting game just like them. Punish rainbows, don't fall for the short fakes and keep focus ready whenever you walk because most Blanka's tend to do a lot of river slides at a certain range. Since mk>hands isn't the best option (FADC xx throw is better), look for the usual max range sweeps (because of the risk on block), cross them up to prevent blanka balls (watch out for EX vertical though) and just be aware of their mind games.
