Morrigan Aensland: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Character Guide

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Button Move Key

Special Moves

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick (Can also be performed in the air)
Soul Fist (Fireball)
This is similar to Ryu's Fireball except it's a bit bigger and slower. The Light and Medium version travel almost a full-screen's distance before sputtering out, Hard travels the whole way.

When used in the air Morrigan will aim this diagonally down-forward, which can be pretty handy.

The button used determines to the speed of Morrigan's projectile.

Shadow Blade (Dragon Punch, Shoryuken)
Morrigan's Dragon Punch. It hits several times and can also be done in the air. The Hard version has great range, but all three work well as anti air.

The Light version is the safest attack (shortest recovery time), and Medium is a mix of the two.

Drill Kick (Shell Kick)
When you're in the air, this command makes Morrigan's legs turn into a drill and she launches herself at her opponent. Hits multiple times.

Vector Drain (Command Throw)
Morrigan's Command Grab. Works like Alex's Powerbomb in that it cannot be blocked, she just needs to be in range. Considering she has nearly all of Ryu's moves, having a command throw on top of this is nice.

Hyper Moves

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick (In the air)
Finishing Shower (Level 1)
This makes Morrigan fire a bunch of missiles from her wings. There's a bit of start up time, but once it gets going it does a good amount of damage.

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick      Joystick
Valkyrie Turn (Level 1)
One of the most damaging Hyper moves in the game. Morrigan glides at her opponent and cannot be hit. Pressing an attack button will make her go into an improved Drill Kick which does a ton of damage and you can combo your enemy after wards.

The trade off is this move has a ton of start up time, so it's not easy to combo into it.

Darkness Illusion (Level 3)
Executing this will make Morrigan dash at the other fighter. If she hits, Lilith also pops out and they beat the crap out of your opponent.

A piece of cake to combo into it, and not heavily affected by damage scaling, so you'll want to pull this out at every available opportunity. A great Hyper move.

Normal Moves

Joystick Joystick Joystick
Launcher
This will launch your opponent up into the air.

Origins and Story

Morrigan Aensland is originally from the Darkstalkers video games by Capcom. She's a sexy succubus who lives for the thrill of battle. While a succubus is generally considered to be an evil entity, Morrigan is not inherently evil, as she's more of an anti-hero character.

Morrigan has a pair of bat wings on her head and backside which she can transform into blades when attacking her enemies, or they can be used to block attacks. She also possesses magical abilities.

Morrigan hails from Scotland where she grew up in the Aensland family castle. Her life was rather dull while growing up, so now she's constantly seeking entertainment and adventure.

In Darkstalkers lore, Morrigan is considered to be a very powerful character.

It's so much fun to end a combo with Darkness Illusion.
