Anakaris moves and strategies: Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Last updated on July 31, 2009

Special Moves
(Can also be done in the air)
• Miira Drop (Command Grab) •
This is an unblockable command grab, so all you need to know is your ranges to do some nasty stuff.
Light Punch will throw from about sweep distance and Hard Punch works from about a step inside of full screen. Being able to grab your opponent and slam them down from almost full screen is WICKED.
or
or
(In the air)
• Pyramid Dive (Idainaru Bohi) •
Pressing in either one of these three directions and a Kick button will cause Anakaris to do a Pyramid Dive.
You can only do one Pyramid Dive each time you jump.
(Can also be done in the air)
• Cobra Blow •
Anakaris throws out a big mummy cobra. Hard Punch has a lot more range and does more damage, but it has a bit more start up time.
Light Punch is the version that can be used in most combos though, because it starts faster, but you can still use Hard Punch as well if you have the correct range and timing.
When you do this in the air Anakaris will pause while he's executing the move and then come straight down.
or
(Can also be done in the air)
• Sarcophagus Drop (Hitsugi no Mai) •
Makes a sarcophagus drop from the sky, the button pressed controls the range. Pressing these buttons will make the tomb drop in the following ways.
•
•
•
(In the air)
• Doll Curse (Ouke no Sabaki) •
Shoots out projectiles that turn your enemy into a doll if they land.
or
• Air Dash •
Enables you to dash forward in the air by using either command.
Hyper (Super) Moves
(Can also be done in the air)
• Eternal Slumber •
Fires off a slow moving projectile, which if it's blocked or missed will end this move. If it lands though, Anakaris process to do a series of them ending with a sarcophagus drop, and when all is said and done it takes off close to half of the other player's life.
• Pharaoh Illusion •
Makes you turn into a big... thing that attacks with the punch and kick buttons for a short period of time. The Light attack buttons cause you to hit from the left, Hard attack buttons from the right.
Pressing in different directions on the joystick will cause your character to move slightly, but also alter your attacks to kind of follow in the direction you're holding.
(Can also be done in the air)
• Pharaoh Cobra Blow •
Anakaris opens up a sarcophagus which shoots out cobras every time you press an attack button. Light Punch shoots one from the top of the tomb, Hard Punch a slight step down, Light Kick is 2nd from the bottom and Hard Kick fires one off from the very bottom.
You can get quite a few hits from this is your timing is right, but if it's off, you'll mess up the combo.
(Can also be done in the air)
• Hyper Sarcophagus Drop (Hitsugi no Utage) •
Summons a bunch of tombs that fall on your opponent. Seems to work best from about sweep distance because the tombs tend to miss if you're too far or too close.
Command Normals
• Overhead Kick (Seija no Ayumi) •
or
• Hover Kick (Tenchuu) •
Holding either left or right on the joystick will cause you to hover in that direction as you kick.

@ #2:
I personally like his throw assist (command grab). Kinda hard to catch the opponent with its specific range, but if you do, you can do some big combos following it.
But also personally I use Anakaris first because he's less of an assist, and needs assist with his game.

Just picked him up and love him. Got alot to learn and I need to improve my execution I keep doing Mira drop instead of his hyper cobra in my air combos.

I just don't like how 2 of his supers are button inputs, those are difficult to do sometimes.
