Dhalsim moves and strategies: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Special Moves
(Can also be done in the air)
• Yoga Fire •
The button pressed determines the speed of the projectile, with Hard Punch being faster.
• Yoga Flame •
Dhalsim breathes a huge flame out of his mouth, this has pretty solid range but will not hit from full-screen's distance.
The Hard Punch version can juggle your opponent multiple times, and has the potential to do more damage, but if you're not close enough to juggle with it fully — you need to be around sweep distance — you're best off using the Light Punch version because that one hit will often outperform the Hard Yoga Flame from longer distances.
• Yoga Blast •
Basically the same thing as a Yoga Flame, except arced diagonally up-right to catch people who are jumping. The Hard Kick version also stays out for a lot longer than the Light Yoga Blast, which makes it very forgiving on the timing when you're trying to anti-air someone.
or
(While jumping)
• Air Drills •
The Hard Punch Air Drill is Dhalsim's Yoga Mummy. He leads with his head and this can travel over some projectiles and attacks, plus it's pretty quick.
The Hard Kick Air Drill doesn't have much range, and travels almost straight down with a slight forward arc.
(When close)
• Yoga Noogie (Command Grab) •
This motion overlaps with the Yoga Flame, but it's an unblockable command grab. You have to be pretty close to pull it off, or you'll just do a Yoga Flame instead. Still, pretty handy since it cannot be blocked.
or
(Can also be used in the air)
• Forward Yoga Teleport •
Teleports behind your opponent.
or
(Can also be used in the air)
• Backwards Yoga Teleport •
Teleports backwards.
(Can also be used in air)
• Flying •
Makes you fly around for a longish period of time. You can do any of your aerial moves while you're Flying, including your Air Drills.
plus any direction in the air
• Air Dash •
Simply hold in whichever direction you want to fly while jumping, then press the two punch buttons at the same time and you can Air Dash.
Hyper (Super) Moves
![]()
• Yoga Inferno •
Can be aimed up or down with the joystick, and if you land all of the hits it does good damage.
![]()
• Yoga Strike •
Dhalsim's anti-air Hyper move. If he catches an airborne fighter, he'll flip them into the ground taking off a healthy chunk of life.
