Sakura's plotline and history for Street Fighter 4

Don't be fooled by her schoolgirl charm. Sakura is far from your average teenager.

After witnessing her idol, Ryu, win the first World Warrior Tournament, she was instantly inspired to become a fighter he would be proud of.

She traveled the world in hopes of persuading Ryu to train her, but is turned away when he confesses that he himself has much to learn and cannot take on a pupil.

Now word on the street is that a new fighting tournament is starting up and Sakura enters with head held high, hoping to see Ryu once more.

Sakura's fighting style is similar to Ryu's, having memorized his movements and trained with Dan, a previous student of Ryu's sensei, Gouken.

She may not have the same power as her idol, but her impressive ability to manipulate ki is hard to ignore.

Surprised they didn't put Allen Snider and Kairi in the game, since they got all the shotos and shoto clones

there's only 6 shoto's why complain there are 19 other characters to choose from .....

Sakura Dan Sagat and Goujen aren't even really Shotos. YOu might as well call Guile a Shoto because he has flash kick and sonic boom. Or Dhalsim because of yoga fire and yoga blast.

Only Ryu Ken and Akuma really play similarly, and Akuma is added to quite a bit, and the strengths and weaknesses of Ryu and Ken are different enough to make them individuals.

Gouken's Hadouken is very different. His Tatsu is straight up, and he has no regular shoryuken.
Sagat has high and low projectiles, and his tiger knee is very different from tatsu, and all his normals are very different.
Sakura is completely unique, with her chargeable hadouken, her shunpu, and shouou. the basis is obviously ansatsuken, but her style is very much different.
And Dan is more a clone/parody of Ryo than Ryu

Dan is NOT a shotoclone -_-. Dan is a joke character (literally), if you wanna call him anything call him a 'SNKlone', since he was MADE for the purpose of parodying SNK's Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia in style, story and techniques. So no, he's not a shotoclone, hes a shotoclone of an SNK shotocopy. 'Nuff sed.

Anyway, "Shotokan" is a term invented by americans. It never existed in the original version. The style of Ryu, Ken, Akuma etc is not even SIMILAR to real Shotokan Karate.

So, "shoto" is always wrong :P

Despite who's write or wrong on the "shoto" theory we can all agree that Sakura's a great fighter.

Sakura is my favorite character in this version of SF. She is just fun and I love the her dragon punch. The way she leans into it gives it much more range.
