The former boxing champion and prizefighter will work for whoever offers up the most cash.
After being tossed from boxing for permanently injuring his opponent with illegal moves, Balrog joined Shadaloo and moved through the ranks to become Bison's enforcer.
After Shadaloo's collapse, Balrog disappeared into the shadows.
But you know this boxer can't stay out of the spotlight for too long.

I do wonder if he was inspired by Tyson. Probably was, surprised they didn't paint his pixels white after Tyson went to jail like Nintendo did for Punch-Out haha ...not really surprised but you know...

He was designed after Mike Tyson. In the JPN version his name is actually M.Bison (Mike Bison) And in the original SF2 artwork he looks like Tyson.. But Capcom US felt that if Tyson ever found out they could be in a legal battle. Anyway thats why Bison,Vega,Balrogs names are different from the US and JPN versions

Also in alpha 3 he has an after battle taunt where he threatens to bite your ear off :)....I'm not kidding by the way...

Boxer's are always fun in fighting games. I wish They'd have also included Dudley in this one. Balrog vs. Dudley would make a fun matchup.

Since I'm into boxing I love playing as him. I think now he has set himself apart from Mike Tyson's likeness. Or at least that's what I like to think. Tyson has fallen in grace especially off ring and granted Balrog's character isn't a good guy but still.
