Thanos moves and strategies: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Special Moves

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick (Can also be done in the air)
Titan Crush
Thonas dashes forward leading with his head. Hard Punch version travels further forward and does a bit more damage.

Your Titan Crush has a very fast start up time making it a piece of cake to use in combos, and since it can be done in the air it's a great way to end things while airborne. Also you can combo with it after doing a sweep. Very, very good move.

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick
Death Sphere
Throws a bubble that captures you opponent letting you combo them after wards. Even if you don't land additional hits the Death Sphere actually does pretty decent damage on its own, but it can be devastating when coupled with Thanos' Hyper moves.

The Hard Kick Death Sphere travels a bit faster than Light Kick, but besides that they have the same properties.

Joystick Joystick (Hold last input)
Long Run
You can continue to run forward after doing a dash command if you keep the joystick held to the right.

Hyper (Super) Moves

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick
Gauntlet Power
Tosses a huge fireball out which is very damaging. Has a fast start up time and the hit box is so big on the fireball it can even catch grounded characters. It even curves around if it misses initially.

A great attack when used in combos or in conjunction with his Death Sphere, or pretty much any other time. Your Gauntlet Power kicks ass!

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick
Gauntlet Reality
Summons two stone walls on each side of the other player and then they quickly come together to smash your enemy. Has a taller/different hit box than your Gauntlet Power attack, so can work well for hitting players who are in a juggled state.

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick
Gauntlet Space
Creates a portal up in the air which rocks fly in and out of, it works best from close range, but it has a bad habit of missing several hits.

Considering the other Hyper moves you have at your disposal, it doesn't make much sense to use this often.

Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick Joystick
Gauntlet Soul
Thanos holds his arm above his head and shoots out electricity. Not as damaging as your Gauntlet Power/Reality attacks, but this will track based on the location of your opponent and it should connect in combos no matter where they're at as long as it's not full-screen's distance.

Again, not as good as some of your other Hyper moves, but handy when the other fighter is in a location that won't be hit properly by your Gauntlet Power/Reality.

Command Normals

Joystick Joystick Joystick (In the air)
Diving Shoulder

Joystick Joystick Joystick
High Kick

Gauntlet Soul also gives you back health. All the health taken from your opponent fills into yours.

Make use of his double crouching light kick - easily followed up by a Titan Crush or Gauntlet Power, and comes out pretty fast. Not too useful against players that spend a lot of time in the air or running away, but if you manage to get under em' it's basically a free super.

Gauntlet Soul actually just recovers the red part of your health that you gradually regain while you're switched out.
