Sabretooth moves and strategies: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Special Moves
(Can also be done in the air)
• Berserker Claw •
You'll dash forward doing a fast swipe with your claw. The Light Punch version does less damage and has less range, but a much faster start up time.
The damage difference on a Light Berseker Claw compared to Hard isn't very much, and it's range is still fairly good regardless, so it's typically better to use most times in combos.

• Wild Fang •
A jump grab attack. Sabretooth jumps in the air with his claw out and if he touches an enemy he'll do a flip throw. This works even if your opponent is airborne.
Your Wild Fang can be blocked though.

• Armed Birdie •
Sabretooth calls out his helper who pulls out a big gun and pops a few shots off. Light Kick makes them come out directly forward while Hard Kick arcs slightly up while traveling forward.
(Near a wall when jumping)
• Wall Jump (Sankaku Tobi) •
Simply press in the opposite direction of a wall when you're close to it while airborne to Wall Jump.
Hyper (Super) Moves
• Berserker Claw X •
A souped up version of your Berserker Claw with a hideous amount of start up time. Really hard to consistently combo into this without some serious help. Damage on it is good though.
• Weapon X Dash •
Another improved version of one of your normal attacks, this time it's the Wild Fang. Again, Sabretooth jumps forward with his claw out and if he connects with his enemy, grounded or airborne, he'll do a series of attacks.
This can also be blocked.

• Heavy Armed Birdie •
A very damaging attack if it hits or is blocked. Again, like the normal version Sabretooth calls out the girl with the big gun and she shoots a ton of bullets out.
A ton of start up time on this, making it all but impossible to combo with, but a great move if you land it.
Assists
| Type | Partner Assist | Variable Counter | Variable Combination | |
| A | Expansion Type | (H) Berserker Claw | (H) Berserker Claw | Hyper Berserker Claw |
| B | Projectile Type | (L) Armed Birdie | (H) Armed Birdie | Heavy Armed Birdie |
| Y | Launcher Type | 2nd hit of Standing Hard Punch | 2nd hit of Standing Hard Punch | Heavy Armed Birdie |
• (L) next to the move stands for Light.
• (H) next to the move stands for Hard.

Does anybody have any tips when it comes to comboing with Birdie? I typically completely ignore those moves while I play, but I'd like to start using them if they're effective.

@Graham, you the birdie callout move for rush down, and if sabretooth is hit during the time he calls birdie out, she will still shoot unless she's hit, same with the hyper combo, if she is not hit, she will blast and sabretooth will be free to move during this, which can set up some rushdown and combos. his beserker claw can be chained also.
do beserker claw+weapon X dash, his beserker claw pops the body up enough for them to get hit by the hyper. only do this as a basic chain or if you hit them while they are in the air, if it is an ground juggle, it will not work.

I love useing Sabertooth. Im not pro at the game at all, but i usually use a Sabertooth, Jill, and Captain Comando Combo.
I love sabertooth because of Birdie. Like Nagato said, if she isnt hit, she keeps going. I usually use Sabertooth on assist and have him call out birdie when she is shooting straight a-head. I usually eather try to move in with Jill at that point and try to set up some comboes, or sit back and throw out dogs and birds. Its pretty cool IMO, but again I am nowhere near pro.
Generally ill use captain comando, call out the birdie assist, and usually use the mummy guy (dont know his name, the one that spins in the air with the knifes in his hand) anyways, its pretty cool because you have birdies shots going across the ground and him in the sky, helps you set up some nasty stuff.
Anywyas, all im saying is that its sad that Sabertooth isnt high teir cause birdie is cool.

^ actually wolvie has a lot less stamina, does less per hit, and generally.. less per combo. Wolvie's better.. but not in every way.
Also sabertooth has some teams he call really do well with.
