Now we're getting an HD Remix guide?
Man, I love this site.

Posted by Kyle on October 30, 2008 at 12:07 a.m. #2

Yeah, Seriously.
Keep up the great work!

Posted by pissed off on October 30, 2008 at 12:21 p.m. #3

no screw this, its horrible , he starts guides then doesnt finish, like the 3s guide, this is freaking ridiculous, been waiting for an update like 3 to 5 months

Posted by yflow on October 30, 2008 at 6:38 p.m. #4

I'm inclined to forgive him for not finishing the guides since there's so much Capcom activity going on right now. I think that after the SF4 and HD Remix scenes calm down a little and the games are released, we'll get better guides. If not, then I'll be right there with you.

Posted by CWheezy on November 11, 2008 at 4:40 p.m. #5

Man, the third strike guide is for a game that's 7 years old, give him a break

Posted by mm hm on November 14, 2008 at 8:29 a.m. #6

then he should take the whole thing down until hes ready to continue it, its only angering people who wait so long for it to come out

Posted by rj on November 15, 2008 at 8:45 p.m. #7

Hd remix plays like sf2 with minor changes. Its nothing different you guys really don't need a guide seriously. If you never played sf2 for all you youngens there... sf is sf. Same characters same moves. Stop complaining about him not finishing the guide. You guys really don't need it

Posted by ken on November 21, 2008 at 5:46 a.m. #8

does the new hd remix have online play?

Posted by meh on November 24, 2008 at 3:02 a.m. #9

@pissed off,@mm hm: where's the freely available guide you wrote for 3s? you're nothing but a leech.

Posted by charger on November 26, 2008 at 1:43 p.m. #10

I'm having a hard time with the "charge" supers... is it really that difficult? i'm in the training mode and it's nearly impossible here, no way i'll do it in arcade mode. somebody tell me what i'm doing wrong...

Posted by Ray on November 26, 2008 at 8:37 p.m. #11

Seriously consider getting an arcade stick if you want to pull off difficult moves consistently.

Posted by Rossman on November 26, 2008 at 9:59 p.m. #12

I would love a section explaining the combos of the new remix version. Thanks for the guide.

Posted by Cetra on November 27, 2008 at 9:59 p.m. #13

Geez what kind of guide are you ppl expecting from such a straightforward game like SF2?

No guide can help you if you are so incapable of learning the game through self play.

How to deal 3 hit combos? How to perform cross up? lol

Posted by Agreeable on November 29, 2008 at 3:59 p.m. #14

Just want a finished guide folks......you wouldn't take half a check at work would you.

Posted by kimbo on November 29, 2008 at 4:17 p.m. #15

for charge characters supers i recommend crouching back and after 2 seconds just flick the stick forward back and forward then press the kick or punch button respective to the super. and guiles double flash kick has a new motion start from down back and charge and spin the stick all the way around to up forward. this is how i do them and i main a few of the charge characters

Posted by Timothy on December 4, 2008 at 5:35 p.m. #16

Great job.

Posted by shadow on December 5, 2008 at 4:20 a.m. #17

I too wish he would finish what he begins:(

The current activity with SF is not an excuse when he had a tonne of time to get it done BEFORE SF4 and SSF2T HD remix came out!

Posted by shadow on December 5, 2008 at 4:23 a.m. #18

Forgot to say though that I am VERY happy about one thing though!

I would not have known SF4 was out in Brisbane, Australia if it wasn't for the SF4 tracker so I do appreciate that!

Posted by Secret on December 9, 2008 at 11:42 a.m. #19

How many ppl are paying for this service?

Why are we complaining about a free service?

I imagine he has a day job and does this on the side. What do you do on the side? Play Street Fighter? We'll thankfully someone is willing to sacrafice his Street Fighter time to help you understand the game.

Keep up the good work Eventhubs.

Anyone man up on some HD Remix hit me up.

Xbl; SecretCharacter

Posted by Exactly on December 18, 2008 at 1:13 p.m. #20

As Secret said, don't complain if you aren't giving something in return. Why don't some of you who want more offer to contribute something, a guide, some cash, whatever to make Eventhubs have an easier time and increase the quality of the site.

Posted by STFU on December 26, 2008 at 12:11 p.m. #21

Seriously, who are the wankers here that are complaining about something not done to THEIR self-absorbed satisfaction? STFU, you whiners. The comment above about you being leeches is balls-on. Get a grip, get out of your victim role, and start thinking about contributing something positive to the world. You know who are you are, just grow a pair and get real about showing some appreciation for what you get, instead of crying like a little baby that got the teat knocked out of their mouth.

EventHubs: You rock! Your guides are great, and appreciate your efforts.

Posted by Thamanator on December 27, 2008 at 10:27 a.m. #22

I agree. This site is the best I have ever been on as far as SF goes. I have been playing SF since the original. LITERALLY. I played Street Fighter 1 in the mall where I live. Obviously I am older: 30 years old. I really feel like a ton of respectable work has been put into this site and I appreciate eventhubs and their contribution.

Posted by Organi on December 28, 2008 at 6:59 a.m. #23

Seriously. Quit whining you selfish pricks.

Posted by drDOOM on December 29, 2008 at 8:02 p.m. #24

I love the site. But you should totally add some more stuff to the M.Bison(Dictator) page. That would be awesome.

Posted by will on January 1, 2009 at 9:18 p.m. #25

i really think the juggling is ridiculous

Posted by Mariotaz on January 5, 2009 at 2:26 a.m. #26

Awesome guide. Thanks ^^. It's awesome coz Xbox LIVE Arcade you don't get manuals and stuff but this is like a helpful manual.
Thanks ^^
This game is awesome, just a bad thing are the spammers online who do the same moves. Not just online, the computer does it in Arcade. It is rather annoying. You get to Sagat and all he does is the 'Tiger Shot' Over and over ¬_¬ Same with T-hawk and Blanka. You can really get your ass raped...in on easy ¬_¬

Posted by electric Blanka on January 8, 2009 at 12:36 p.m. #27

Yeah yeah yeah..all this talking about o this guide not done or it suck..then why you be doing the same moves listed in here..don't be lying..lol Great site mang keep it up screw the other folks talking smack..they just been getting their asses whoop that's why?? lol

Fei Long FTW!

Posted by yo on January 18, 2009 at 9:32 p.m. #29

online play is a blast, but does anyone feel like the number of people using programmables/turbo button are growing? I'm not good enough to where I can counter ken's LP shoryuken when opponent's seem to hit it every time needed (on awakens, after light pokes, etc... ) and I faced a few turbo mashers using tick-grab strategies that seem to get throw priorities where usually the other guy should (and then the damage over time grab goes as fast as it can go up, dealing 1/3rdish of life?). Yeah, I know I'm not an expert, but does anyone else also get this feeling that the cheap community is growing?

Posted by raiders of lost park on January 19, 2009 at 10:10 a.m. #30

this site has better info than ign or gamespot put together

Posted by XSPR on January 21, 2009 at 8:01 a.m. #31

There is also a wiki for some of this type of info but I find they can contain inaccurate info, for example in this guide I just scanned Dhalsim's entry, it says Dhalsim has many anti-airs, but in fact technically he (like dictator) has no anti-air but that may be a high-level thing, sniff. :) Also any of his limbs can be hit by any attack. Subtle points for those just trying to pick up the game- no offense to the author, I can imagine this stuff is not easy to put together but I want to mention something else that may help most of all: Execution Aid, a free tool I made.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xi_BYZ...
(Give it a try, download link in description, click "More info...")

Posted by Balrog on January 22, 2009 at 3:51 a.m. #32

Dhalsim has no anti airs? What?

He has a ton of ways of countering jumps. What are you talking about?

Posted by Struggs on January 23, 2009 at 9:12 a.m. #33

@XSPR

Bison doesn't have anti airs? You're an idiot.

Posted by XSPR on January 23, 2009 at 10:22 a.m. #34

Dhalsim has no anti-airs. Dictator also has no anti-airs. Ohhhhhhh you guys are talking about attacks to knock them out of the air when you have enough time to stand up, make a sandwich, and still have time to hit the opponent who jumps late. But some of us play against people who sometimes jump on time or even early, and try exploiting the fact that THE CHARACTER WE USE HAS NO ANTI-AIR. Potato, potahto. Anyway if you like to read about how to improve your theory-fighter game, stick with these guides, but when you try anything out in an actual match, you will see how important Execution is.

Posted by XSPR on January 24, 2009 at 11:39 p.m. #35

Uh... scratch that last comment. My use of anti-air applied to reversals when Dhalsim/Dictator stand up eg after a knockdown. My bad! Though I made one mistake, that's no reason to write off everything else I have to offer... for example my expertise, Execution Aid, etc.

Posted by sucky sucky on January 27, 2009 at 12:54 a.m. #36

i think there should be more added for fei long

Posted by StanPhilo on January 28, 2009 at 5:52 p.m. #37

I remember back in the day when I was playing in the arcades the players had an honor code.

No cheesing and no throwing. This was everywhere I went no matter what state it was.

Now everyone just keeps away throwing fireballs, throw with every chance they get.

Posted by ThrowingzForNubs on January 30, 2009 at 12:23 p.m. #38

Yea then you had a terrible arcade. Lets have an "honor code" and not use all the tools everyone has avaliable. Not each char. has a throw!...oh wait they do. When people block they should be invulnerable to damage period. lets take away combos also becuase once they land the first hit the others are too much damage for landing the opener. Should also not use low attacks or sweeps as they may knock you down and cause you to be confused as where to block on wake-up. Forget street fighter, Hello Kitty: Love Sunshine Island sounds like much more fun. There is no throwing or fireball traps in that game.

Posted by jleadership@gmail.com on January 30, 2009 at 6:32 p.m. #39

@ ThrowingzForNubs

Thank you for Clarifying that bs. I just had to clarify this issue in the throwing section. I am from back in the day. I have played every street fighter that came out. Like I said before stand around looking at me , I will seal the deal.
Its' street figher , Hince the title chumps.

Hey Stan- You been playing all this time and you still complaining about throwing. Hey stan (xbox 360 ShrewdGameFiend) in case you are mad. I never meet a 15 year nub!!!

Posted by X on February 2, 2009 at 8:14 p.m. #40

Has anyone beaten the single player on expert? I can't do it. The computer counts most of it's moves as reversals and I can't get around them. It's not fair that the game reacts to your button imput rather than to what your character is doing. That Blanka slut always does his vertical roll on the same frame that I jump.

Posted by Ev1scerator on February 4, 2009 at 8:29 p.m. #41

This site is great. Screw the haters, I for one thoughly appreciate all the bitchin content. Thanks a million!!!

Posted by jleadership@gmail.com on February 9, 2009 at 3:46 p.m. #42

Love the site.

It's the equivalent of SF2 and EGM. I was big on guile but there is something about DJ that throws people off.

I had my a$$ handed to me by a dj player so bad it made me wonder. Then here you come with a dj guide. DJ is a beast and is regarded higher in tier then Guile and Ken.

Thats what I love about sf. No matter how good you are there is somebody better.

Is the MadCatz T.E stick the best stick for 360 or does anyone disagree?

I love these guides i just wish they had more matchups for all of the characters. Im having a hard time with Balrog against E.Honda.

Posted by Thamanator on March 10, 2009 at 9:23 a.m. #50

Try mixing up which punch button you use for the dash punches. Use more jab and strong than fierce. It makes a world of difference.

Posted by Patman on March 14, 2009 at 3:11 p.m. #51

Do people still play HDR now that SFIV is out? I'm wondering if I should get this game for the xbox 360 because I'm waiting to get SFIV for the PC since my friends only have PC's, so i was thinking about getting this to hold me over until the summer. Are there still a lot of people playing it or is it pretty barren?

Posted by Mark on March 15, 2009 at 12:22 a.m. #52

Wow, I can't believe that some ungrateful people actually post complaints. This site is great, and it's free!

You shouldn't complain about that in my opinion.

Thanks for the great site guys!

Posted by z3poxx on March 15, 2009 at 9:46 a.m. #53

I went back to SSF2THDR today after been playing SF4 a long time now, mainly because i wanted to play DeeJay and the unranked lobbies are really fun to play in.

It's so satisfying to over and over beat some people with different characters each time until they quit...

Posted by LazyNG on March 18, 2009 at 6:48 a.m. #55

Anyway i'm always looking for highly skilled players to bout with considering my expertise with Balrog. If you deem yourself a worthy opponent send me a message on XBL.

XBL Tag: LazyNG

I also play SF4, however I lack the outstanding skill that I have for HD Remix.

Posted by LazyNG on March 18, 2009 at 6:50 a.m. #56

Also, wanted to mention how much I love this website. Although I am mostly self-taught I can't say I didn't learn a thing or two from here. Please keep up the excellent work.

What on earth is this rubbish above???

Posted by MackDiddy on April 23, 2009 at 3:49 p.m. #58

Played some scrub named Dek0r the other day. Definitely the biggest sore loser ive played on SFHDR. Keep talking crap and blame players who beat u by stating they have turbo pads. Apparently anyone that beats him uses a turbo pad. Its called skill - something u dont have Dek0r. F'n scrub.

Posted by J-man on April 23, 2009 at 5:06 p.m. #59

Wow I have not been here in awhile. To the poster above, I have also played that Dek0r guy. Definitely a scrub who thinks hes the best. Clearly he is not. I remember playing his sore loser ass and he rage quit on me in ranked match. BTW, I also know what you mean by turbo pad. He kept saying that stuff during the match like I couldn't hear him. Apparently three lp combo is considered turbo to him. Dek0r = coward and idiot. To anyone who has played this loser, he sucks bad. Talks crap whenever he loses or rage quits. I wonder how many matches Dek0r had to rage quit in order to achieve a high ranking on the leader boards? Grow up loser.

Posted by HeavenorHell on April 23, 2009 at 11:14 p.m. #60

i played that dek04 guy earlier today, he b!itched whined and moaned the whole time after i beat him for the 7th time, He went on a rant and kept calling me a N*GGER over and over. he's pathetic

Posted by GuileMeisters on April 24, 2009 at 2:43 p.m. #61

Dek0r is a sore loser - period. Sucks at life. Sucks at SF. Sucks at everything he does. Hes a pathetic player who thinks hes good.

Posted by Dek0r on April 25, 2009 at 11:50 a.m. #62

What is this? More people talking crap online about me. Please. I will own any one of you. Just send me a friend request and I will be glad to rape you 10-0. Peace no lifes

Posted by SRK on May 11, 2009 at 12:34 p.m. #65

Wtf "Dek0r" and "lol the real dek0r?" Both of u sound the exact same on here and on XBL. Why would u make two accounts loser? If anyone should get a life, it's u Dek0r.

Let's be cool and make two different screen names on Eventhunbs. lol... sad Dek0r

Posted by Type-Gsi on May 12, 2009 at 7:29 p.m. #66

U obviously must care about what us "little forum net losers" think to reply on here. Btw I like your cocky arrogance in the other news sections. U beat Justin Wong? Righhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht. Also why pretend youre not the other Dek0r username? Pretty sad imo. All the comments I have read in the HD remix and News section from u sound like they were written from u. Funny.

Anyways later cry baby.

Keep thinking your a legend scrub - you're garbage.

Posted by Hater on May 15, 2009 at 11:43 a.m. #67

How is online ranking calculated on HD Remix? Purely cumulative? A ratio of wins vs losses? I heard there are a lot of rage quitters so you can't take it too seriously, but I was just curious. I don't own my own copy.

Posted by BullDancer on November 5, 2009 at 2:40 p.m. #79

Using the same TrueSkill thing that all other games use at least for xbox. Basically beating a higher skilled player puts you higher on the leaderboards than beating someone who is worse multiple times. However rage quitting sometimes causes a glitch that gives the winning player a loss. Games fun though and excellent netcode, better than SF:4 from my experience. Although I like HDR better for now.
