M. Bison and Vega will be returning in Street Fighter 4. Capcom uploaded a bunch a nice screen shots to their Flickr page.
This video shows footage of Rufus and El Furte in action. Rufus is one of the more... odd characters seen in a Street Fighter game.

El Fuerte is a new confirmed character for Street Fighter 4. He's another grappler/wrestler type character, which is interesting because the game already has Abel and Zangief.
Sagat and Balrog will be appearing in Street Fighter 4. To check video of the fighters in action, just click their names.
Abel is another new character for Street Fighter 4.
It has been confirmed that the original eight Street Fighter 2 characters will all be making another appearance in the latest installment.
The word around the net claims that SF4 is 50% complete, which would put its release date some time this summer.

The Street Fighter blog posted some scans from a foreign magazine that claims Akuma is confirmed for the upcoming game, along with a brand new character called the Crimson Viper.

A First Look at Street Fighter 4 part 1 and part 2 have surfaced on YouTube. It has new gameplay footage of Ryu and Ken fighting and there's a bit of new information in these videos plus, including...
- Interviews from members of the team working on SF4.
- Clearer details about how the new gameplay systems work, including the 'Revenge' and 'Saving' systems.
- Capcom grasps how important online play is to the Western audience and they're adding in features to help satisfy that need.

Gameplay details
- Focus Attacks: This combines both defense and offense in one powerful package. Your character will enter a special preparation pose, which is safe from some attacks, and then they'll unleash a powerful attack.
- Ultra combos: Basically enhanced super combos.
- Traditional Street Fighter: The game will play like other 2-D fighting games.
- Saving attack: The, "replacement," for the SF3 parrying system is called a Saving attack and it can be done by pressing both medium attack buttons at the same time.
- Street Fighter IV will have online play.
- Throwing is done by pressing both light attacks.
- Personal actions (taunts) are executed by pressing both hard attacks.
- Quick wakeup is done by holding down on the joystick when you're just about to hit the ground.
- There are EX moves executed like in SF3 by pressing two punch or two kicks after doing the respective move for the motion.
Additional details
- The standard 6-button layout will return.
- Street Fighter IV will take place some time between Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter III
- The game will run at 60 frames per second
- One more new female character will be announced

Old information
On October 17, 2007 at the Gamer's Day event in London Capcom announced Street Fighter 4 and released a trailer which shows Ryu and Ken fighting in a forest area. You can view the trailer at Streetfighterworld.com.

this game is gonna be amazing and I'm already declaring myself the future king of Street Fighter 4 on PSN when it gets released on PS3, so watch out cause I'm gonna destroy you all with Ryu...see you suckers in 2009

I just hope they conclude some of the story-line all ready.Like I'd like to see Ryu Finally Beat Akuma and for Ken to Beat a major Character like that of Gills Level.Plus make Sean has more Priority and power conpared to SF3:TS.Also give Ryu alot of Powerfull Moves and Specials.I mean He is supose to have been influence by Oro,I want to see that influence in some cool new Specials and also a Max Guage Special like akuma's Raging demon but something unique to Ryu.Plus maybe give Ken a Counter Special where he tuants and if you hit him your F*cked,lol.

Capcom never stops to excite me. I love everything they have made. Personaly though, I think it would be l33t if Capcom teamed with Square Enix, but either way this game is going to pwan..and Capcom is doing just sweel on its own. Hope to add 4 to my games soon. *^-^*
